Jason Askren

Jason Askren
Youth Care Director

Jason began his career with IDTC in 1999 as a youth counselor. A year later he was promoted to a supervisory position. Since January 2005 he has been using his experience to enhance his duties as Training Coordinator. Jason evaluated, designed and updated all staff training programs and ongoing continuing education pursuits. Jason was an integral part of the Human Resources Department in his role as Training Coordinator. In 2007, Jason accepted the position of Youth Care Director and now supervises all Direct Services Staff..


Sara Boyer Sara Boyer, PhD, HSPP
Psychologist

Sara Boyer is the IDTC Psychologist. She obtained her Ph.D. from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis, with a specialty in Rehabilitation Psychology. She has been involved in the human services field for over 20 years and has worked extensively in behavior management in residential settings, primarily with clients who are dually diagnosed as having a developmental disability and psychiatric illness or severe behavioral problems. She also has extensive experience in working with psychiatric clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Celeste Burcham Celeste Burcham, MSW, LCSW
Director of Operations-- Indianapolis

Celeste is the IDTC Director of Operations. She previously served as the Social Services Director, and held that position since IDTC opened in 1997. Celeste graduated from Indiana University in 1977 with a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University and has been involved in the human services field since 1977, with particular emphasis on children's programming. Celeste strongly believes in the importance of family in a child's life, a philosophy endorsed and implemented at IDTC.

Celeste Burcham Michelle Turner
Social Services Director

Michelle is a graduate of Indiana University.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology.  Michelle also received her Master of Social Work degree and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She has previous experience working with children with special needs and their families in the social services field.  Michelle has extensive experience providing individual, family and group therapy.  She is a strong advocate for children and believes each child has strengths that can be utilized to enrich their life.


Sherry Cooper Sherry Cooper
Program Coordinator/Building Supervisor, Indianapolis
Sherry Cooper is a Program Coordinator and Building Supervisor at IDTC-Indianapolis. She started her career at IDTC in February of 1998. Sherry is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology. During her time at IDTC, Sherry has also worked as a Youth Counselor, Unit Coordinator and Senior Counselor before assuming her current duties.

Jamie Davasher Jamie Davasher
Admissions Specialist, Indianapolis

Jamie is an Admissions Specialist at IDTC - Indianapolis. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Life and Child Development. Before joining IDTC, Jamie worked at Gibault School for Boys while obtaining her degree. Jamie joined IDTC in June of 1998 and worked in Youth Care before joining the Admissions Department. Jamie continues her personal contact with IDTC residents and is an active member of IDTC's mentoring program.

Melissa Duncan

Melissa Duncan
Teacher, Indianapolis

Melissa has been teaching at IDTC-Indianapolis since 1998. She is a graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education (Mild Disabilities). In 2003, Melissa completed work on an addition to her Teaching License in the area of Emotionally Disturbed. In August 2005, Melissa earned her Masters degree in Special Education/ED through Indiana State University. Melissa teaches the Pre-GED classroom at the Indianapolis location. Most of her students are focused on skills needed to earn their GED.


Michael B. Flores

Executive Director of IDTC, Indianapolis

Mike, the Director of IDTC, is a native of Colorado. He has over 27 years of experience working with the developmentally disabled. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Valparaiso University and earned his Master's Degree at Indiana University. Mike has served as a public and private administrator for a variety of community-based residential facilities. His areas of expertise include behavioral plan development and implementation, as well as individual, group and family therapy.


Robert Orkmon

Robert Orkmon
Safety and Security Coordinator, Indianapolis

Robert is the Safety and Security Coordinator for IDTC-Indianapolis. He has been with IDTC since 1997. Robert previously worked as a Building Supervisor before assuming his current position. Robert enjoys all of his responsibilities at IDTC because they allow him to be involved with the residents, whom he considers to be real inspirations.


Melinda Ross Melinda Ross
Education Director, Indianapolis

Melinda is the Education Director at IDTC-Indianapolis, and previously served as IDTC's Youth Care Director. She is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a Master of Arts degree in Special Education. Melinda has worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings since 1984.

Rachel Soderberg

Teacher/Education Manager

Rachel Soderberg has been with IDTC-Indianapolis since Spring of 2000. Her duties not only include teaching, but other coordinating and administrative duties related to the Education Department at IDTC-Indianapolis.


Kelli Stoner

Foster (Lowell) Flint
Community Services Coordinator

Foster brings a wealth of knowledge from more than more than 12 years of experience in the human services field and a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University.

Prior to starting at IDTC in 1999, Foster was an Assistant Manager at a group home serving children with Autism.  Foster also held the position of Community Resource Coordinator for College Avenue and Plum Grove community living units for 4 years prior to becoming the Community Services Coordinator. 

Foster is responsible for scheduling, supervising direct care staff and providing oversight of all daily operations within the community living units.  
 


Kenny Wade Jeff Caswell
Community Services Coordinator

Jeff began working at IDTC in the Fall of 2004 as a QMRP on the Private Secure Unit. 

Jeff received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehead State University and a Master’s of Divinity degree from Lexington Theological Seminary.  He served as a local congregational minister from 1987 to 2004 for churches in Kentucky and Iowa. This included working with the MR and juvenile offender populations in Iowa.

Currently, Jeff is the Community Services Coordinator for Barbano Court Community Treatment Unit and enjoys working with wonderful staff and seeing to the needs of a very special group of residents. 


Nancy Ward Nancy Ward
Health Services Director

Nancy is the IDTC-Indianapolis Health Services Director and is a Registered Nurse with certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse. Her work with children started in 1987 when she became an advocate for the needs of children with diabetes. In 1994 she began working with children and adolescents with emotional handicaps. She has worked with children in both acute and residential settings. Nancy is a member of the Indiana Chapter of the Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nurses.

Brandeis Watkins Brandeis Watkins
Director of Operations--Community Living Options

Brandeis was recently promoted to the new position of Director of Operations for IDTC and IDTC-Lafayette's Community Living Options. Brandeis oversees all of the community group homes. Previously, Brandeis had been the Group Homes Manager overseeing the two IDTC group homes in Indianapolis and has also worked in the Youth Care Department and has served as a Building Supervisor. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and a minor in drawing. In 2002 Brandeis graduated from Saint Mary of the Woods College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has been with IDTC since February of 1998. Brandeis is a Certified Instructor in Handle With Care.
