Nationally known for our expertise in working with intensive needs children, many of whom carry a diagnosis of Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorders, IDTC also provides expert care for children and young adults who are dually diagnosed with a wide range of other developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances, as well as low incidence syndromes. It is our philosophy to respond to the needs of each child on an individual basis, but understand that in order to identify to the public who we serve, it is necessary to speak of the types of children we serve best.
Some of the typical diagnoses include, but are not limited to:
Dedicated to helping our clients achieve the highest levels of independence possible, IDTC’s goal is not to keep residents in a life-long program, but to help return them to their community, and offering a continuum of care with the opportunity for progression to less-restrictive and step-down programming as treatment goals are met.
Our commitment to assuring innovative treatment services is evidenced in IDTC’s referral services. We recognize that each child is unique with individual strengths and needs, therefore requiring unique services. Our priority is always the well being of each child, and to match the student with appropriate treatment providers. Not every referral is appropriate for our treatment setting, but we strive to help families and referral sources locate alternative services to best meet the child’s needs.
