Indiana Developmental Training Center developed children's group homes for residents in need of a less-restrictive environment as a step toward independence. These community-based living arrangements are Child Caring Institutions, known as Group Homes, and are licensed by the State of Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. These homes are designed for children ranging in age from 6 to 21. Located in surrounding neighborhoods, programming focuses on community integration. The home-like atmosphere provides more normalized living with specific training in daily living skills. Placement in a community group home is facilitated in cooperation with the child's referring agency.
