FAQ

Who refers a child to IDTC for treatment?

Parents, guardians, physicians and case managers are encouraged to call IDTC for help in the referral process. Children are typically referred to IDTC from county offices of child and family services, the Department of Education and/or local school districts and the juvenile probation system.

What is the average length of stay at IDTC?

The length of time a child spends at IDTC depends on the child’s needs. Lengths of stay can range from 9 months to 24 months as the resident moves through our continuum of care. Some children return home or move to a community-based setting while others may need longer term support.

Can families and/or guardians visit their child at IDTC?

Absolutely! Family involvement is at the top of the list for kids at IDTC. Families and guardians are encouraged to schedule a visit to spend time with their child on out grounds or during a home visit as appropriate.
